Pecans!!!
Yes!!! I am sooo excited ... The pecan trees are full ! We haven't made a pecan crop in 4 years. This year the trees are so full that limbs are breaking ... I picked up a few of the early ones yesterday ... The crows are coming in and trying to beat me to them ... But I will not let them win! Here are a few pictures I took yesterday!
Little basket i picked up and picked off a few trees .. Hubby said these are Pawnees...he grafted all the trees in our orchard and around on our property . He can tell you the name of every pecan on this place! He also planted all these trees when we first got married I'ver 30 years ago! Never thought I would really see the fruits of his labor ... But have truly been blessed watching them grow! Just hate to see them lose their leaves in the winter!
These are on a broken limb...
You can see the orchard in the background! This is in a field in front of my house...
The orchard...
Limbs broken from the weight of the pecans...
Just another view of the most damaged tree we have...
Have a blessed day!
